BROCKVILLE – Two dogs have been seized from a home within the City of Brockville.
Officials are providing few details about the seizure, though the condition of the animals was serious enough to warrant medical care.
“The animals have since been treated by veterinary staff,” city police said after assisting humane society officers on Friday.
Police suggested the owner will have the option of getting his pets back if he abides by some conditions.
The Ontario SPCA the dogs were “receiving the care they require” but would not disclose the breed and age of the dogs, the extent of their health or the location of the seizure.
“As this is an ongoing investigation, we can’t speak to details at this time to maintain the integrity of the investigation,” Ontario SPCA spokesman Melissa Kosowan told Brockville Newswatch.
Kosowan wouldn’t say whether charges are pending.
