Woman under home confinement caught driving in Gananoque

GANANOQUE – Town police say they caught a driver from Napanee who shouldn’t have been driving alone in their community.

The 47-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday (July 18) after learning the woman they had pulled over was a suspended driver and also had conditions relating to theft charges in Kingston and Gananoque.

She also had bail conditions to not be out of her home without her court-ordered surety with her.

Officers also seized 14 empty video game packages in the vehicle, which had been stolen from a Kingston business, police said. The actual video games were found at a Kingston pawn shop.

The woman, who was not named by police, is charged with theft, possession of property obtained by crime, breach of recognizance and breach of undertaking.

She was held for a bail hearing.
