BROCKVILLE – Officials with the Brockville General Hospital have declared an end to an outbreak of a stomach bug.

It’s been five days since patients displayed signs of the gastroenteritis outbreak.

The heightened visitation restrictions within the two inpatient units (1 East, 2 East) at the Charles Street site were lifted today (March 20) after the hospital consulted with the local health unit.

This is the second outbreak this year (the first one was declared Feb. 2).

An enteric outbreak is declared when three or more cases happen in a four day period, according to provincial health regulations.
