PRESCOTT – The Town of Prescott will be opening its doors to the public later this week for Local Government Week.

The open house is Thursday from noon until 3 p.m. at 360 Dibble Street where people can tour the town hall and sit in Mayor Brett Todd’s chair or any of the councillors’ chairs.

Local Government Week is celebrated by local communities to let the public know about the day-to-day functions that have a direct effect on residents.

Local Government Week is an initiative of the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks & Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO), Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and supported by the Ontario Teachers Federation.
