BROCKVILLE – A body has been pulled from the water at St. Lawrence Park.

Emergency crews were called to west dock in the County Road 2 park in the western outskirts of the city yesterday (Saturday) afternoon after someone made the shocking discovery.

Brockville firefighters helped police in removing the body from the water.

The victim has been sent to Ottawa for an autopsy on Tuesday to figure out the identity and cause of death.

The beach and park area of St. Lawrence Park was closed for several hours for an investigation but has since reopened. The campground was unaffected.

“We wish to thank members of the public for their cooperation and assistance during this investigation,” police said in a statement.
