Arrest in Prescott hit-and-run

PRESCOTT – An Augusta Township man is facing charges after a pickup truck barely missed a pedestrian Wednesday night (Feb. 10) before slamming into a hydro pole.

Grenville County O.P.P. said the truck took after hitting the poll on Churchill Road around 7:30 p.m.

While officers were patrolling the area – less than a half hour later – they got a tip about a truck matching the description of the suspect vehicle.

The grey, older-model truck had spun out on Highway 401 and struck the median before landing in the ditch.

Police arrested a 29-year-old Augusta Township man and charged him with dangerous driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, drunk driving and marijuana possession.
