Suspects caught after police officer hit

PRESCOTT – Provincial police have released security camera photos in an attempt to locate two suspects wanted for gas thefts in Grenville.

One theft happened around 6 p.m. Tuesday night (Feb. 2) in Kemptville.

The suspect vehicle had been reported stolen in Ottawa the week before.

O.P.P. officers then spotted the vehicle coming into Prescott and tried to stop it.

A police cruiser and an officer were hit as the suspects made their getaway.

The chase ended in an alley off Edward Street, where the man ran away.

Grenville County O.P.P. say the man is wanted in connection to gas thefts in Kemptville and also from the Esso in Prescott on Saturday (Jan. 30). The woman is wanted in connection to the Prescott theft.

The police officer was treated and released from hospital for minor injuries and the cruiser has some minor damage.
