Lori Taylor wins leadership award

BROCKVILLE – A Brockville vice principal of program is being recognized for her leadership in advancing equitable and inclusive education.

Lori Taylor will be receiving the 2015 Mary A. Samuel Harmony Leadership in Education Award, named after human rights advocate Mary A. Samuel.

Taylor co-founded the Queer Ally Alliance (QAA) Club at Thousand Islands Secondary School while she was a teacher there.

She’s also been behind the #SEEMYVOICE social media campaign on Twitter, highlighting a range of diversity issues.

Taylor will receive the award in early November during the 2015 Harmony Awards Gala in Toronto.
